Pastor Andrew

Pastor Andrew

I have served as pastor of First Baptist Church of Atwater for 5 years now. It has been an honor to serve Jesus Christ and His church for as long as I have and I look forward to watching Him continue to work for many years to come. My wife Gabby and I both grew up in the Central Valley of California and we have been married for 9 years. We now call Atwater home along with our three daughters.

God has been calling my heart to serve him since high school yet only recently did I find out exactly what that calling meant for my life. While it was true in high school and college I had no desire to be a pastor, God has transformed my life in such a way that I wouldn’t have it any other way than the position and responsibility of service I have today. I consider it an honor to serve the people of God that he has assembled here at First Baptist Church of Atwater and the community as a whole,  it would be a blessing to be able to meet you and lead you closer to the one relationship you were created for, a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.  I am available to meet with you immediately following service from 11:00 to Noon or feel free to schedule a time that works best for you.

Henry - Discipleship

When I was in College, God used His Discipleship ministry of The Navigators to commit my life to Christ as my Lord and Savior. And from that most important event in my life, I have embraced this verse from His word in Galatians 2:20 - "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me". And true enough, along with my girlfriend Nancy, who is now my wife, God has led our hearts to relentlessly pursue Christ in obedience and be the all-encompassing definition of our life.

As backed by God's Word, discipleship covers all areas of life and it is a life-long process. It is anchored by the believer's genuine commitment to follow Christ (Philippians 3:8 " What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ"), and journey with others to follow Him. The First Baptist Church of Atwater invites you to this journey.

I have celebrated so many of my life’s milestones here among these people. It has been a place I have called home for decades. I know it could be a home and shelter for you as well.
